(The Post News)– Kanye West’s talent agency, 33&West, has severed ties with the rapper and fashion designer following a series of antisemitic remarks and actions. The decision to cut ties with West follows the rapper’s social media rant over the weekend, which included selling a swastika T-shirt, making a number of antisemitic comments, and uploading many pornographic films to his page.
West’s agent, Daniel McCartney, announced the agency’s decision to drop West on Instagram, saying, “Due to his harmful and hateful remarks, neither I nor 33&West can stand for it.”
The controversy led to Shopify shutting down West’s website, citing violation of their terms of service. Visitors to the site were greeted with a message saying, “This store is unavailable. Additionally, West faces a lawsuit from a Jewish former staffer who alleges she was discriminated against and harassed due to her sex and religion. The plaintiff claims West sent her antisemitic texts, including one reading, “Hail Hitler.”
Another Yeezy team member also left, according to Rolling Stone; Eric Cui, who was West’s former chief of staff, resigned on Sunday. It happened soon after West posted pictures of the hotel security footage that showed Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulting his ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, defending Combs for the physical abuse.
Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is incarcerated pending trial in May for many federal sex offences, lauded Adolf Hitler. (Diddy, 55, was accused in September on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has been denied bail three times and entered a not guilty plea.
Cui stated in an Instagram statement, “I loved working at YZY because I believed in your dream.” “I will use my right to free speech to declare that crimes and violence against women and children are unacceptable because I believe in it.” The move marks the latest fallout for West, who has faced widespread criticism for his antisemitic comments and actions.
