(The Post News)- Jude Bellingham made a heroic move to secure the win for Real Madrid at Etihad Stadium against Manchester City on Tuesday night in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg.
Despite Real Madrid’s impressive attempts to equalize, Erling Haaland’s opening goal put Manchester City ahead at halftime. However, Kylian Mbappe’s incredible finish following Dani Ceballos’s second-half shot reignited the match.
Manchester City was awarded a penalty after Dani Ceballos fouled Phil Foden, and Erling Haaland scored flawlessly from the penalty spot. Just when it seemed Manchester City would win, substitute Brahim Diaz scored Real Madrid’s second goal, and Jude Bellingham completed the comeback triumph in stoppage time.
Erling Haaland scored twice for Manchester City at 19′ and 80′, while Jude Bellingham scored in the 92nd minute, Brahim Diaz at 86′, and Kylian Mbappe at 60′ for the visitors.
“We have some of the top football games of our season. Manchester City is still an incredible squad, regardless of their current status,” said Jude Bellingham in a post-match interview.
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti stated that they deserved the win. “That’s right for us; the season officially begins now.”
With two of the most recent winning goals in the UEFA Champions League, Jude Bellingham is making a strong case for himself. Vinicius Jr. was named ‘man of the match’ for his outstanding effort, which included setting up the game-winning goal.
