(The Post News)– The seven-time champion hits the track with his new team ahead of the 2025 season. Lewis Hamilton has officially driven a Ferrari Formula 1 car in its latest spec for the first time, taking the SF-25 out for a run at the Fiorano Circuit. Following his high-profile switch from Mercedes, Hamilton is gearing up for his debut season with the Scuderia, closing the chapter on a dominant era with his former team.
While he’s already had a few private test sessions in older Ferrari models, this marked the first time he got behind the wheel of the team’s 2025 challenger. The car, which made its debut at Maranello, follows its launch at the O2 Arena in London, where Ferrari unveiled a fresh livery, its signature red complemented by a bold white stripe. Hamilton’s teammate, Charles Leclerc, was the first to take the SF-25 out on track before Hamilton stepped in for his inaugural run.
Speaking at the launch event, Hamilton described his mindset heading into this new chapter. “The word that I’m thinking of is ‘invigorated’ because I feel so full of life, so much energy,” he said. “Everything is new, and I’m just focused on what’s ahead. I’m so proud to be part of the team; it’s something new and exciting for me.” Next up, Hamilton will return to the cockpit for pre-season testing in Bahrain before making his race debut with Ferrari at the Australian Grand Prix in March.
