(The Post News)- Wendy Williams, the former host of “The Wendy Williams Show,” was hospitalized on Monday after dropping a desperate note from her assisted living facility window, reading “Help! Wendy!!” This alarming cry for help came just months after Williams’ care team announced her diagnosis with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia.
According to reports, New York police were called to the facility for a wellness check, and Williams was escorted to a waiting ambulance before being taken to Lenox Hill Hospital. The hospitalization is reportedly for an independent examination to assess whether Williams’ cognitive functions are sufficient for her to end her financial guardianship, which has been in place since 2022.
This development comes after Williams expressed feelings of isolation and frustration with her living situation during a January interview with “The Breakfast Club.” She claimed to feel like she’s “in prison” and insisted that she is “not cognitively impaired” despite her dementia diagnosis. Williams’ struggles with her health and well-being have been ongoing, including her battles with Graves’ disease, lymphedema, and sobriety issues.
It is worth noting that Williams has been hospitalized previously for psychiatric evaluations and COVID-19-related issues. Her team has been working to support her health and well-being, and fans continue to send their well wishes for her recovery.
