(The Post News)– Brad Binder put in a determined ride at the Argentina MotoGP on Sunday, securing a hard-fought seventh place for Red Bull KTM. Despite showing improvement from the season opener in Thailand, the South African racer was unable to match the pace of the front runners.
Starting from 11th on the grid, Binder worked his way through the field to finish in the top ten, ultimately crossing the line over 14 seconds behind race winner Marc Marquez. The Spanish rider continued his dominant form, securing back-to-back doubles, with his brother Alex Marquez finishing second and Franco Morbidelli completing an all-Ducati podium.
Reflecting on his race, Binder acknowledged the effort he put in but admitted there was little more he could do. “I gave it everything from the first lap, so I’m pleased to come away with solid points after the challenges we faced on Saturday,” he told KTM’s official website.
Marc Marquez leads the championship standings on a flawless 74 points, followed by Alex Marquez (58) and Pecco Bagnaia (43). Binder currently sits seventh with 19 points, while his teammate Pedro Acosta holds 10th place with 12 points.
It was a positive weekend for South African riders, as Darryn Binder and Ruché Moodley also managed to score points in their respective classes. While KTM still has work to do to close the gap to Ducati, Brad Binder remains confident that further improvements are possible in the coming rounds.
