(The Post News)- World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka delivered a powerful performance at the Miami Open, defeating Italy’s Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 6-2 on Thursday to reach her first final at the tournament.
Sabalenka controlled the match from start to finish, serving strongly and making it difficult for Paolini to fight back. She won most of the points on her first serve, hit six aces , and didn’t allow her opponent to break her serve even once. In contrast, she took advantage of Paolini’s serve four times, giving her a clear edge in the 71-minute match.
The Belarusian player has been in top form, reaching the final without losing a single set in her five matches. She lives in South Florida and has been training there, which has helped her feel comfortable and confident on the court.
