(The Post News)– Netball South Africa, together with headline sponsor Telkom, has officially announced the return of the Telkom Netball League (TNL), Africa’s top-tier franchise netball competition. The action kicks off on Saturday, 26 April at Sun City Superbowl in the North West Province the confirmed host venue for this year’s edition.
Now in its 11th year, the TNL continues to grow in stature, offering a thrilling platform for both seasoned and emerging talent. Backed by long-time supporters SPAR and Bojanala Municipality, this season promises to be the most exciting yet.
Two new teams join the fray: Zimbabwe’s invitational squad and the SPAR Baby Proteas (South Africa’s U-21 team). Their inclusion highlights a shared commitment between Netball South Africa and Telkom to uplift youth development and provide invaluable match experience ahead of the Baby Proteas’ World Youth Cup campaign in Gibraltar.
This year’s league will span three “Power Weeks”:
26 April – 4 May at Sun City
13 – 17 June
14 – 20 July (finals week)
Four-time champs Free State Crinums will defend their Division A crown, while KZN Kingdom Stars aim to bounce back after narrowly missing promotion last year.
Netball South Africa President Cecilia Molokwane expressed excitement over the league’s growth, saying it continues to serve as a launchpad for the country’s next netball stars. Telkom’s Hellen Dinawane echoed this, reaffirming the brand’s passion for grassroots development and community impact. Fixtures, ticket sales, and broadcast details are expected to be announced soon.
