(The Post News)– Edinburgh Rugby have confirmed the signing of Dylan Richardson from the Hollywoodbets Sharks, marking a significant move for the Scotland international, who will now be based in the country he represents. The 26-year-old, who has earned six caps for Scotland, has often been sidelined by injury but remains a standout player when fit.
While Everitt’s time at the Sharks ended in mixed fashion, it’s worth remembering that he had early success with a dynamic loose-forward strategy – with Richardson and James Venter excelling in the openside role before big-name signings altered team dynamics. Ironically, Venter is also heading abroad, recently confirmed to join Gloucester next season.
Everitt, now building something fresh at Edinburgh, welcomed Richardson’s arrival warmly. He praised the former Sharks star for his experience, physicality and versatility, saying he fits both the playing style and culture the team is cultivating.
Though the Stormers once eyed Richardson as Deon Fourie’s successor, the move to Edinburgh now sets him on a new course – one that brings him closer to the national setup and under the guidance of a coach who knows exactly how to get the best out of him.
