(The Post News)– Arne Slot thanked former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp for his legacy at the club as he celebrated winning the Premier League title in his first season at Anfield. Liverpool defeated Tottenham 5-1 on Sunday to win the English championship, and their nearest challenger, Arsenal, can no longer catch up to them.
According to Slot, taking over from what Klopp had done had a positive impact on his role. Additionally, Slot noted that he benefited from the team and culture left behind by Klopp. He went on to remark that he thought everyone could see how exceptional the players were, and in spite of this, the athletes and staff have shown an excellent work ethic.
Slot claimed that it felt unreal that Liverpool had won the Premier League, matching Manchester United’s record of 20 top-flight titles. Except for the moment the team van pulled up to Anfield and thousands of supporters greeted it, the Dutchman claimed he had maintained his composure all day. He stated that the only moment he was emotional was when we arrived at the stadium, to see what it meant for the fans, what it meant for these people.
He went on to say that they appreciated having the opportunity to win, though they felt they had to execute everything properly right away. However, Slot believes that everyone on that bus believed that if the spectators were as enthusiastic as they were, they would not lose this football game. Furthermore, according to Slot, both the crowd support and their players’ performance during and after the game were exceptional.
