Harry Kane has finally won his first major trophy with Bayern Munich, ending his trophy drought after six lost finals with Tottenham, England, and Bayern. The 31-year-old striker's impressive season with 24 goals and 7 assists culminated in the Bundesliga championship win.
(The Post News)- Harry Kane’s trophy drought ends. Known for never winning a team championship with his club or nation during his career, Harry Kane has finally brought an end to his trophy drought. The 31-year-old attacker has long waited for a debut title win after losing six finals – three with Tottenham, two with England, and one with Bayern.
On Saturday, Bayern had the opportunity to clinch the title against Leipzig. However, in an exciting 3-3 draw at the Red Bull Arena, Harry Kane was sitting in the spectators because he was suspended due to a yellow card. A late goal from Youssef Poulsen initially seemed to stop Bayern’s celebration, but the draw was enough to secure the title for Bayern.
In 2023, Kane moved to Bayern, reportedly driven by his desire to win a championship. With 24 goals and 7 assists this season in Germany’s top division, the Three Lions captain now has a trophy to match his impressive goal total. “Everyone just discusses the fact that I haven’t yet taken home a championship,” Kane had said earlier in February. “It would be wonderful to silence a few.”
He becomes one of just a few Englishmen to win the Bundesliga, joining Kevin Keegan and Owen Hargreaves.
