(The Post News)- Thomas Muller, who joined Bayern at the age of twelve and participated in his 500th Bundesliga match last week, has won 32 titles with Bayern, including two Champions Leagues. However, he will depart at the end of the current campaign after not receiving a contract extension offer. Alongside Ryan Giggs, who won 13 league titles in any of Europe’s top five leagues during his lengthy stint at Manchester United, the midfielder now has another title, which is a suitable send-off.
Muller’s contributions to Bayern are still indisputable, despite his recent seasons being reduced to a supporting position. His 749 appearances for the Bavarians across all competitions are the most in the team’s history, and he is a one-club player. He has contributed 234 assists and 248 goals to the team over that period.
The 35-year-old had stated that his goals were to return the league title to Munich and go to the Champions League final this season, which would take place at the Allianz Arena, home of Bayern. Muller was able to fulfil one of his dreams, even though his desire of winning the top continental club championship in his own stadium was dashed by a quarterfinal loss to Inter Milan. After going trophyless in 2023–2024, Bayern is relieved to have the Bundesliga shield raised.
