(The Post News)- Two suspects, out of five arrested in connection with the case of Sibusiso Aserie Ndlovu and his partner, Zodwa Mdhluli, have been formally charged with murder. They appeared in the Magistrate’s court on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Kwamhlanga. Acting Mpumalanga Police Commissioner, Zeph Makhwanzi, said the police are convinced that there may be more suspects involved and vowed to continue investigations until they’re satisfied. “We are not going to stop until we’re satisfied. We still believe there are people outside who can be arrested; we’re still busy with the investigation.”
The accused, Samuel Magongwe (41) and Michael Sikhosana, reappeared in court on May 9 after a brief appearance earlier in the week, where they faced kidnapping charges. Authorities have recovered some of the victims’ belongings, including vehicle parts believed to have come from the car the couple was last seen using.
Following the discovery of two bodies in Limpopo Province earlier this week, believed to be Ndlovu and Mdhluli, the couple’s loved ones were left devastated. Treasure Mdhluli, the couple’s son, said, “We’re shattered by the new developments because, despite everything, we were still hopeful that we’d find them alive. Finding the remains was something the family wasn’t expecting.” Despite the tragic turn of events, the family has found some comfort in finally receiving answers after a month or two of silence.
The family awaits DNA test results to confirm the identities of the remains. The investigation is ongoing, and the accused are expected to reappear in court on May 12, 2025.
