(The Post News)- On May 15, 2025, R&B singer Chris Brown was arrested at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester, England, in connection with an alleged assault that occurred in February 2023 at Tape nightclub in London’s Mayfair district.
The incident reportedly involved Brown striking music producer Abraham Diaw over the head with a tequila bottle, followed by punching and kicking him while he was on the ground. Diaw sustained injuries requiring hospitalisation and later filed a civil lawsuit seeking £12 million ($16 million) in damages.
In an interview with The Sun, Diaw claimed that Brown hit him on the head more than once, causing his knee to collapse. He stated that Chris claimed that one of his entourage hit him, but he is aware that Chris was the one who did it.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that Brown, 36, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and remains in custody as investigations continue.
Brown, known for hits like “Run It!” and “Under the Influence”, is currently on a global tour, with several UK performances scheduled in the coming months. It is unclear how this arrest will impact his tour plans.
This incident adds to Brown’s history of legal issues, including past assault charges and lawsuits.
