(The Post News)- Mamelodi Sundowns have successfully secured their eighth consecutive league title with a 3-nil victory over Chippa United.
May 14 saw them lifting the Betway Premier Soccer League, adding to their cup list a new trophy sponsored by Betway, after the DStv and Absa Premiership cups. Since 2017, Sundowns has been winning the league back-to-back, featuring in almost all competitions in football. The club broke more records and upgraded to the 18th-time champions in the PSL era.
As they win the league with an unsealed 15 points from Orlando Pirates, who are in the second position, the club is left with only one game in the league to play against Magesi FC.
Meanwhile, Sundowns awaits the Confederation Africa Champions final against Pyramids—also being one of the teams partaking in this year’s Club World Cup. A treble for the club is possible with the PSL clinched while CAF and the Club World Cup are looming.
