(The Post News)- KwaZulu-Natal Premier Honourable Thami Ntuli has commended the collective efforts of community members, law enforcement agencies, and civil society for uniting against the scourge of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) following the successful apprehension of a rape suspect in the Bizimali area.
Honourable Thami Ntuli praised the courageous efforts of the Bhekisizwe Taxi Association in Nkandla and the South African Police Services, as well as the broader community, for playing a decisive role in tracking and apprehending the suspect accused of multiple sexual offences. Ntuli expressed deep appreciation for the bravery and vigilance of the Taxi Association, whose swift action led to the suspect being brought into custody.
Meanwhile, a close source reveals that children have been victims of rape, but the school governing board has opted not to involve parents, fearing that the school’s name would be tarnished in terms of matric results.
In a separate incident, KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has expressed appreciation after a top-ranking police officer was arrested. The officer was allegedly on his way to meet someone to sell a gun and 30 bullets, reportedly stolen from Richmond Police Station in 2006. The police officer is expected to appear in court soon
