(The Post News)– KwaZulu-Natal Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli visited the Mpanza homestead in Dokodweni, under Mandeni Local Municipality, to pay his condolences after the tragic death of 18-year-old Xolile Mpanza.
Mpanza’s decomposed body was found dumped in a sugarcane field, leaving behind a distraught family, including a three-year-old child.
The family is still grappling with the loss, and relatives have expressed their emotional pain. “As a family, we are very emotional about the incident,” said Jabulani, Xolile’s uncle. According to Jabulani, Mpanza’s uncle, the incident has left them “emotional”.
In a similar incident, in the same area, a 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two suspects. The teenager is currently receiving medical attention at a local hospital.
The police are investigating both incidents, and the community is calling for swift justice. Premier Ntuli’s visit brought some comfort to the grieving family, but the community remains shaken by the violent crimes.
