(The Post News)- The Economic Freedom Fighters President Julius Malema spoke to community members of Ward 16. This took place in Koppies, in Free State. This was ahead of their bi-elections, which will take place on the 28th of May 2025.
Malema urged thousands of the EFF supporters to join him in the struggle against “Imperialism.” He claimed that their organization is the only one hated by imperialists.
“I will never be intimidated by America. I will never be intimidated by Donald Trump. They were speaking about me in that meeting at the White House. If they were not gossiping about me, they should have called me into that meeting. I would have answered everything that Donald Trump wanted from us,” he said.
Malema was referring to the recent visit of President Cyril Ramaphosa and his delegates to the United States of America. They met with President Donald Trump to discuss revitalization of bilateral, economic, and political ties between the US and SA. The visit also focused on the ongoing disputes fueled by the widespread misleading white genocide claims.
In the meeting, Trump played videos of Malema singing “Kill the boer” chant, and suggested that he should be arrested. He was criticizing Malema, citing the chant as evidence of targeted violence against white Afrikaner farmers.
“This is not my song. I did not compose this song. I found this song; the struggle heroes composed this song. All I’m doing is defending the legacy of our struggle,” he said.
Malema described the chant as part of the country’s liberation. It was sung by Peter Mokaba in the presence of Chris Hani. Malema said Trump is scared of him. He claimed that he was not going to say everything that he uttered after watching the video clips.
“I will never stop singing a song that Winnie Mandela sang before she died. That would be a betrayal of the struggle of our people,” he added.
He also blamed Ramaphosa for what he saw as a failure of presenting facts. He added that the President is a coward. He not stand by the remarks he made about Trump and the US. He said that they can never be bullied.
