Manyi has reportedly been fired as MK Party chief whip and replaced by Makhubele.
(The Post News)– Colleen Makhubele has reportedly taken over as the Chief Whip of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party in the National Assembly after Mzwanele Manyi was fired.
Party members further charged him with enabling Julius Malema, the head of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), to silence the MK Party’s opposition in Parliament. TimesLive reported that a party source disclosed that his strategy undermined the party’s position and alienated important members.
Experienced politician Makhubele is anticipated to approach the post with a more cooperative approach as the MK Party negotiates its place in South Africa’s unstable political environment.
Manyi has not made a public statement regarding his dismissal. This upheaval occurs as the MK Party looks to consolidate its power, casting doubt on its internal unity and long-term plan. The party is expected to deal with these growing pains in the future.
