Orlando Pirates has officially confirmed the departure of Timm and Male, their captain.
(The Post News)– Orlando Pirates have confirmed the departure of two players set not to renew their contracts as they are about to expire.
Timm joined the club in July 2022, coming from Marumo Gallants FC. He landed the Pirates’ signature after contributing to the team’s 2020-21 Nedbank Cup victory when it was still called Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM). With the Buccaneers, he leaves the back-to-back MTN-8 titles, where he even got the man of the match against Amazulu in 2022; a Nedbank Cup 2023 victory beating Sekhukhune 2-1; and he was once called to represent the national team.
Meanwhile, Maela joined the club from the National First Division in 2017, after he had a positive performance as captain at Thanda Royal Zulu and promoted the club to the Premier Soccer League in the 2016-17 season. From 2017 at the Buccaneers, being a key player, he became the club captain in 2022 because of his determination and performance.
Along with back-to-back Nedbank Cups in 2023 and 2024, the skipper departs with the MTN-8 titles from 2022 and 2023. He made his 200th appearance milestone, which he celebrated in September 2024, especially joining the club from the elite division.
