(The Post News)- In a since-deleted X post posted on Saturday, Elon Musk refutes the drug usage claims, stating, “To be clear, I am NOT taking drugs!” This post was in response to a New York Times article claiming that the billionaire used ketamine and other drugs while serving as an informal advisor during Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.
The New York Times article cites multiple sources claiming that Musk’s drug use included ketamine, MDMA, and psychedelics, reportedly affecting both his health and behavior. It references the highly criticized Nazi gesture he went viral for earlier in January as one of the times he might have possibly been under the influence.
Musk acknowledged the prescribed use of ketamine in the past, stating it was administered for mental health reasons, but insists he hasn’t used it since. In the post, he further adds that “The New York Times was lying their ass off.” This came after he deflected the question on Friday when he appeared alongside Trump in the Oval Office.
The appearance was a formal farewell of sorts due to Elon ending his role as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). In this appearance, reporters also noticed his black eye. According to Musk, he jokingly told his 5-year-old son to punch him — and the boy did as told.
Later in the day, a reporter asked Trump if he was aware of Musk’s alleged drug use. Trump responded, “I wasn’t,” but “I think Elon is a fantastic guy,” he added.
