Gauff Powers into Fifth Straight French Open Quarterfinal

(The Post News)– Coco Gauff eased into her fifth consecutive French Open quarterfinal on Monday, dispatching Russia’s Ekaterina Alexandrova 6-0, 7-5 in just 82 minutes.

The world No. 2 breezed through the first set with three breaks of serve, and despite a tighter second set, closed out the win efficiently.

Gauff, 21, will next face fellow American and reigning Australian Open champion Madison Keys in an all-American clash on Wednesday. Her 15 victories on clay this season are tied for the most alongside Elina Svitolina, another contender still in the draw at Roland Garros.

Reflecting on her progress, Gauff said she was pleased to be back in the quarters and proud of her performance, hoping to maintain momentum through the tournament.
