(The Post News)- Trending “Mommy Club” season 3 cast member Pheladi Madungandaba is currently embroiled in a deeply personal paternity dispute. Her ex-husband has accused her of allegedly duping him into marriage by lying about the paternity of their child, a claim that stems from their 2016 shotgun marriage which dissolved in divorce in March 2022.The reality show newcomer recently gained attention for revealing she walked out of her matrimony empty-handed.
The accusations against Madungandaba are detailed in a cease and desist letter sent by her ex-husband’s lawyers, Johan van de Vyver Attorneys. According to the letter, Madungandaba allegedly told one of their children after the divorce that the businessman, who cannot be named to protect the child’s identity, was not her father. Furthermore, she allegedly took the child to a cemetery and showed her a grave of a man she claimed was her biological father, who was “shot and killed by a bad man.”
The lawyers expressed deep perturbation, noting that these allegations, implying he was not the biological father, had been repeatedly made by Madungandaba’s acquaintances in the past. The letter states that such claims imply Madungandaba “had wilfully misled our client into believing that he is the biological father” and “coerced our client into entering into a marriage relationship with you.” The lawyers highlighted the emotional distress caused to the child by these “conflicting information regarding her paternity,” warning her to immediately cease such communication and provide a written undertaking not to discuss paternity with the child given her age and level of maturity.
An insider shed further light on the dispute, revealing that the businessman may still demand paternity tests at a later stage, with his lawyers confirming his rights “are hereby reserved in toto.” However, this source indicated that while Madungandaba’s husband did push for paternity tests in June 2022, he later allegedly abandoned the idea because of the deep bond he has with the child.
The “deep throat” source revealed further alleged details, stating the businessman learned from associates that Pheladi Madungandaba had claimed a certain Vusimuzi Shaba was the biological father of their child. This news reportedly caused him significant concern. The context, according to the source, was that Madungandaba was pregnant when she and the businessman rekindled their relationship after a brief breakup. At that time, she had reportedly assured him the expected child was biologically theirs and that she had not been intimate with anyone else during their separation. Out of love, he accepted her explanation and proceeded to tie the knot with her to ensure the child was not born out of wedlock.
However, the source indicates that following their subsequent breakup, Pheladi allegedly informed her friends that Shaba was indeed the father, and that she had “tricked” her then-husband into believing he was the biological parent. This information led the businessman to initially feel emotional and “duped into marrying her.” Despite these tumultuous revelations, the tipster noted that “after extensive reflection,” he “made peace with Pheladi’s allegation and concluded that he is the child’s father.” The source added that their close relationship and the happiness the child brings him were key factors. Furthermore, the source conveyed his apprehension that paternity tests could severely impact the child and potentially cause “unintended repercussions on their other children” if negative results were to emerge.
The unfolding dispute has reportedly “rocked their families,” highlighting the profound personal and familial repercussions of such public legal battles . The case serves as a poignant reminder of the challenges reality television personalities face when their private lives become subject to public debate and legal contestation.
