(The Post News)– On Tuesday, hundreds of fans and media outlets from across the globe gathered outside the South Korean military base to welcome K-pop superstars and BTS members V (Kim Taehyung) and RM (Kim Namjoon).
They have both officially completed their mandatory military service. V and RM become the third and fourth members of the seven-person group to finish their service. They enlisted in December 2023 and couldn’t stop smiling as they gave their final salute in uniform.
RM, who served in the Army’s military band, and V, who was part of a special mission unit under the military police, both expressed gratitude and excitement about returning to their fans. Speaking to the crowd, group leader RM shared his eagerness to be back on stage:
“(Members) would feel the same, but stage—I want to perform the most. I’ll work hard to make an album soon and come back to the stage,” he said, shortly after serenading fans with a saxophone performance.
With RM and V now discharged, the countdown to a full-group comeback is underway. Jimin and Jungkook are anticipated to complete their service on Wednesday, followed by Suga on June 21.
Although BTS’ label, BigHit Music, has not yet confirmed details about an official group reunion, fans are hopeful. Especially after Hybe, the parent company of BigHit, wrapped its headquarters in Seoul with BTS and ARMY logos and the bold phrase “We Are Back”.
