(The Post News)- Andre Naude, alleged to have ties to Cape Town’s criminal underworld, was shot and killed on Thursday afternoon in Parow. The shooting occurred on Voortrekker Road shortly after 3 p.m., and Naude was declared dead at the scene.
Authorities were still at the scene on Thursday evening, but no official details about the shooting had been released at the time of writing. It is also not yet known whether Andre Naude was accompanied by bodyguards at the time of the incident.
Naude’s killing comes seven months after his associate, alleged underworld kingpin Mark Lifman, was fatally shot in the parking lot of the Garden Route Mall in George in November.
Andre Naude has been linked for years to Cape Town’s criminal underworld, with a reputation shaped by controversy and allegations of involvement in organised crime.
It is alleged that this was not the first attempt on Andre Naude’s life. In a previous incident near Paarl on the N1, a vehicle reportedly pulled up alongside him, and the driver pointed a firearm in his direction. That attempt was unsuccessful.
People in the area are urged to stay alert and assist with police investigations, while avoiding speculation until confirmed information is made public.
