(The Post News)– Major General Philani Lushaba, Chief Financial Officer of the Crime Intelligence division, and his co-accused have been released on bail.
Lushaba handed himself over to the police Friday morning, after reports alleged that he tried to evade police questioning. His arrest follows investigations that found he and his co-accused had withheld some information from a burglary report.
In addition, Lushaba is under scrutiny for alleged financial misconduct linked to properties worth over R45 million. Authorities suspect that he used money from the Secret Service Account to finance the purchases. The case has been postponed to 15 August 2025.
