(The Post News)- Residents of Bellville South, located in the City of Cape Town, are being advised to exercise caution following reports of sweets allegedly laced with drugs circulating in the area. This comes after two individuals were reportedly hospitalized after consuming an unidentified substance.
David Cecil, chairperson of the Bellville South Community Policing Forum (CPF), stated that they were made aware of the matter last week. He added that the CPF will be engaging with local police leadership to develop a coordinated response.
“We will engage the station commander today on what the way forward is because then what needs to happen is our social crimes officer must then immediately activate, highlighting the issue of these sweets and the negative effects thereof,” he explained.
