(The Post News)– uMkhonto weSizwe (MK Party) MP Nhlamulo Ndhlela has threatened legal action against Floyd Shivambu, former MK Party secretary-general following accusations, including drug use.
Shivambu accused Ndhlela of being a habitual drug user and frequently under the influence of alcohol. He also criticised former President Jacob Zuma’s daughter, Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, labelling her “directionless. These allegations are part of Shivambu’s wider claims that members within Jacob Zuma’s inner circle are diverting party funds, with reports suggesting a monthly embezzlement of around R7 million.
Shivambu has been making headlines since announcing the formation of his new political party during a media briefing held on 19 June in Gauteng. He is once again in the spotlight after making explosive allegations.
Shivambu emphasized that his political background significantly boosted the MK Party’s visibility nationwide, but he noted that some party members appeared uneasy about his growing influence. “There was some degree of paranoia. Some people who thought they were political heavyweights felt threatened by our contributions,” he said.
He further suggested that former President Zuma was influenced by misleading information circulated by what he described as “counterers”, including Nhlamulo Ndhlela. “It includes an imbecile, a fool called Nhlamulo Ndhlela, one of the foolish leaders of the MK Party,” Shivambu said.
The interview, which aired on the afternoon of June 23, has sparked widespread discussion, with social media platforms quickly lighting up in response to Shivambu’s remarks. Some users criticised his remarks as defamatory, while others demanded investigations into the grave charges he’d made. To date, the MK Party has remained silent.
