Athletic Bilbao is fuming over Barcelona for the possible signing of Nico Williams. It is determined to ask La Liga about Barca’s financial records.
“With all due respect, let everyone worry about their own,” stated Barcelona President Joan Larpota speaking to the media. He stated that they have no bad relationship with the Basque.
Larpota stated that they only have a long-standing history with a series of misunderstanding. But he thinks what is done by Athletic is inappropriate. “They should know what they are doing,” said Larpota.
The president mentioned that the club is working on the 1:1 rule. They are eligible to sign and complying to certain parameters. He did not mention names but articulated that “we are attentive to all opportunities that are on the market,” he stated.
As it stands, Athletic Bilbao is still outraged by the alleged departure of their star player. This sparks an institutional war between the Basque and the Catalans.
