Sean "Diddy" Combs Cleared of Sex Trafficking
(The Post News)- In the end of the 7-week-long trial, hip hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was found guilty of two counts related to transporting individuals for prostitution on July 2, 2025. He now faces up to twenty years in prison.
Combs, 55, faced allegations that he flew his long-term former girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura and another woman known only as “Jane” across state lines to participate in drug-fueled sex parties, commonly referred to as “Freak Offs.” For this, 12 jurors found him guikty of transportation counts under the federal Mann Act.
The verdict comes after a difficult trial where jurors heard emotional testimony from 34 witnesses, including Cassie and “Jane,” who detailed how they were coerced, abused, and manipulated into participating in the sexual encounters.
Cassie testified, “He would smash me in my head, knock me over, drag me, kick me, stomp me in the head if I was down.”Her testimony was supported by viral surveillance footage from a 2016 incident in a Los Angeles hotel, which showed Combs assaulting her in a corridor.
Prosecutors portrayed Diddy as a powerful, controlling figure who used money, drugs, and violence to maintain dominance over women in his inner circle. Assistant U.S. Attorney Christy Slavik told the jury, “He thought that his fame, wealth, and power put him above the law. But over the course of this trial, his crimes have been exposed,”
Despite the convictions on transportation charges, Combs was acquitted of the more serious sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges, which could have resulted in a life sentence.
Diddy has previously denied all allegations and maintained that the various plaintiffs are pursuing quick “paydays.” This came after he settled a lawsuit with Cassie in 2023.
