Mduduzi Mnisi appears in court after postponement.
(The Post News)- Murder accused Mduduzi Mnisi continues with his bail application on Wednesday, 02 July 2025, at the Roodepoort Magistrate’s court. The man is facing charges of murdering 14-year-old Likhona Fose, whose lifeless body was found mutilated near a veld in Roodepoort. A court session took place last week; however, following the reported new evidence that had surfaced, the case was postponed to Wednesday, 2 July.
The accused, Mduduzi Mnisi, maintained that he did not know the deceased and that he was elsewhere on the day Likhona Fose was murdered. Mnisi pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. He claimed that he was with his girlfriend, Pinkie Gantso, spending the night at her home in Daveyton from Saturday night through Sunday.
Mnisi’s girlfriend, Pinkie Gantso, was supposed to take the stand during last week’s court case to testify about Mnisi’s whereabouts on the day Likhona Fose died; however, she could not due to the postponement that followed the emergence of new evidence.
Last week, Mduduzi Mnisi came forward with controversial claims, alleging that an investigating officer connected to the case had romantic interests in his partner, Gantso, which he believes is the main reason why he is targeted by authorities and why he was arrested.
According to reports, Mduduzi Mnisi argued that the state has not been fair to him because evidence he believes is visible has not been examined. This includes camera footage covering the street where he resides, camera footage from where he was, as well as his location data from his cellular device.
During his court appearance on Wednesday, Mnisi’s partner, Gantso, gave testimony, confirming his whereabouts the night of Fose’s murder. Pinkie Gantso validated that Mnisi was indeed at her place and admitted to the statement that Mnisi did leave the following day on Sunday. Following a question directed to her about Mnisi’s departure, Gantso said, “He left on Sunday around 6, later in the day, he said that he was going to see his mother. He spent Saturday night with me; we were together the whole day on Sunday, and he only left on Sunday around 6.”
