(The Post News)– The National Extreme Festival rolls into East London’s iconic Grand Prix Circuit on 19 July for Round 5 of the GR Cup Championship, and with just three rounds left, every point counts.
This isn’t just any track. Known as the fastest and most intimidating circuit in South Africa, the East London Grand Prix Circuit is packed with history and danger. Corners like Potter’s Pass and Rifle Bend demand absolute focus, skill, and nerves of steel. It’s no wonder Toyota Gazoo Racing called the GR Cup Media Challengers in for simulator training; better to sweat in practice than crash in real life.
All three GR Cup classes will hit the tarmac, with the Media Challengers ready to unleash 280 bhp of turbocharged energy on the legendary circuit.
At the top of the leader board is Nabil Abdool (SuperSport) with 56 points, followed by Phuti Mpyane (TimesLive) on 33 and Kyle Kock (CAR Magazine) close behind on 32. After dominating at Zwartkops, Abdool has a target on his back, and the rest of the grid is coming for him.
Expect tight racing, bold overtakes, and drama to the checkered flag.
