(The Post News)- The bail hearing of Tiffany Meek, accused of killing her 11-year-old son, Jayden-Lee Meek, has been postponed at the Roodepoort Magistrates Court on Friday.
Meek faces charges of murder and defeating the ends of justice.
The postponement was due to the state not being ready to proceed, citing issues with a key witness for the bail hearing.
In her affidavit, Meek stated that she is married but currently separated from her husband. She is a mother of two, but tragically, both children have passed away. One of her children died just two days after birth.
Meek maintains her innocence, claiming she is being framed for her son’s murder. She said she has an alibi, stating that she spent the night at her mother’s house. She further alleged that the police are trying to make her case resemble that of Joshly Smith.
She also accused the police of failing to do their job properly and stated that her family plans to hire a private investigator to assist with the case.
Meanwhile, outside the court, angry community members gathered with placards reading: “No bail for Tiffany Meek.” One enraged resident said, “If they give Tiffany bail, the community will deal with her.”
The bail hearing is scheduled to resume on Monday, 21 July 2025.
