(The Post News)– French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron, are suing U.S. commentator Candace Owens over conspiracy theories falsely claiming Brigitte was born male.
The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in Delaware, accuses Owens and her businesses of spreading defamatory lies for publicity and profit. Macron stated Owens is exploiting them to gain followers and boost her brand.
Owens’ spokesperson said she plans to address the lawsuit on her show, adding that Owens “couldn’t be silenced.” They claimed Brigitte was invited to respond publicly but instead chose legal action.
Owens has alleged Brigitte is using a false identity and that the couple are related by blood. Macron firmly denied the claims, calling them harmful and false, and said the lawsuit seeks to end the defamation campaign.
The Macrons previously filed a similar lawsuit in France against two women over the same claims.
