(The Post News)- It is a full-circle moment as BET award-winning Limpopo-born singer Makhadzi returned to the heart of Thohoyandou Town in Venda, to launch her highly anticipated 2025 One Woman Show.
The launch took place on Friday, 25th July, at a local shopping centre that holds deep personal meaning for the artist. It was at this very location that she began her musical journey 15 years ago. Today, Makhadzi stands as one of South Africa’s most celebrated performers, with a devoted following and a growing legacy.
During the launch, Makhadzi announced that this year’s show will be a two-day celebration featuring an all-women lineup in its first phase. The headline includes prominent names such as multi-award-winning DJ Zinhle, Grammy award-winning singer Nomcebo Zikode, MickeyBlack, and Shandesh. The renowned Somizi Mhlongo will serve as this year’s host.
Makhadzi shared that this year’s focus is showcasing Limpopo’s best talents, with 90% of the line-up made up of homegrown artists. She has explained that the decision behind the lineup is to show solidarity and the power of unity amongst Limpopo artists. “I have invited everyone I’ve done songs with — together, we can make it.”
The 2025 One Woman Show is set to take place on 20 and 21 December at Makhuvha Stadium and Rabali Stadium. Both stadiums are anticipated to attract over 30,000 attendees each.
“Hosting two nights at two stadiums is a symbol of how far we’ve come, and how much further we can go.” Makhadzi said.
