(The Post News)– Tshwane residents now have a new tool to help them stay informed about service delivery in their wards. On Tuesday, ActionSA launched the Tshwane Mayor’s Performance Tracker in Pretoria, aimed at monitoring service delivery performance across the city.
ActionSA councillor Nasiphi Moya currently serves as the Executive Mayor of Tshwane under a multi-party coalition. According to the party, the Performance Tracker will highlight the positive work carried out by the Mayor and her coalition since taking office in October 2024.
At a press briefing, ActionSA President Herman Mashaba said the initiative aims to enhance accountability and transparency in local governance. He also noted that they are setting an example of how governments ought to operate—”with transparency and accountability.”
He emphasized that the initiative reflects ActionSA’s commitment to putting citizens first, describing it as a new model of public accountability. Moreover, Mashaba highlighted that Their MPs in Parliament give the public a direct report on their work quarterly—they uphold their principles by giving Tshwane residents easily accessible, quantitative, and transparent indications of progress on their website.
The Performance Tracker, available on the ActionSA website, provides real-time updates across all wards. It includes data on turnaround times, unresolved service delivery issues, and backlog statistics.
