(The Post News)- Ghislaine Maxwell, associate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, has been relocated from a Florida prison to a minimum-security facility in Texas. This move has sparked outrage among some of Epstein’s victims, who argue that Maxwell’s crimes warrant harsher treatment.
The transfer occurred shortly after Maxwell met with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, a former attorney for President Donald Trump. Blanche reportedly questioned Maxwell about individuals connected to Epstein’s network, but details of their discussion remain undisclosed.
Maxwell’s lawyer, David Markus, stated that she answered every question during the meeting. Maxwell has offered to testify before Congress about Epstein if granted immunity and has reportedly sought a pardon from Trump, a one-time close friend of Epstein.
The House Oversight Committee had subpoenaed Maxwell to testify on August 11, but the hearing has been postponed indefinitely. Maxwell is serving a 20-year sentence for recruiting underage girls for Epstein’s abuse network.
Victims Annie and Maria Farmer, along with the family of Virginia Giuffre, who accused Epstein of sex trafficking, condemned Maxwell’s transfer. They described her as a “sexual predator” who should not receive leniency.
Tim Hogan, a senior Democratic National Committee advisor, denounced the transfer as a “government cover-up in real-time.” He alleged that the Trump administration is trying to conceal information about Epstein’s network.
President Trump is facing demands for transparency about his connection to Epstein. Trump has claimed that he fell out with Epstein after the financier “stole” female employees from his Mar-a-Lago resort. Giuffre’s family has appealed to Trump not to consider pardoning Maxwell.
