As part of a larger plan to prevent valuable departures on free transfers, the club has already signed a number of important players, including captain Yusuf Maart although he is leaving, midfielders, and forwards.
However, the most recent move focusses on their seasoned elder statesman, whose current contract is anticipated to expire in mid-2026.
