(The Post News)– The ad hoc committee established to examine allegations raised by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi is scheduled to convene on Tuesday to elect its chairperson.
Members of the Democratic Alliance (DA) on the committee have stressed that the parliamentary process should remain free from political maneuvering. DA committee member Ian Cameron noted that the upcoming weekend will be dedicated to outlining key focus areas for the investigation, with an emphasis on addressing core issues objectively.
According to Cameron, the probe will focus on particular issues, reducing the likelihood of political scheming. There won’t be anyone trying to control the process or compete for attention.
Following the committee’s work, both Commissioner Mkhwanazi and the suspended Minister of Police are expected to present their respective submissions.
