(The Post News)– South Africa has officially launched the Miss Polo Universe Africa 2025 pageant, marking a significant milestone in the advancement of women’s empowerment and international diplomacy.
By hosting this groundbreaking event, the country takes an active role in redefining the purpose and perception of beauty pageants. Unlike traditional contests, Miss Polo Universe Africa 2025 emphasizes intelligence, leadership, cultural exchange, and social impact, offering a platform for women to become global ambassadors of change.
Palesa Matjekane, former Mrs. South Africa and now CEO of Miss Polo Universe Africa, passionately championed the initiative during its launch. Matjekane declared that they are not honoring beauty queens; rather, they are establishing South African trade and cultural ambassadors. This pageant represents foreign policy in action.
Matjekane brings a powerful track record to the role, with accolades from the Malala Fund and several international humanitarian awards, underscoring her dedication to social impact and transformational leadership. According to Buzz Life News, applications for the competition will be open from 15 to 23 August.

The Pageant Process for Miss POLO Universe Africa
Women between the ages of 18 and 40 can apply, reflecting a broader age range than most traditional pageants. Each finalist will receive an estimated investment of over R500,000, which will cover international travel, professional training, wardrobe, and accommodation.
The selection process kicks off with virtual auditions from 24 to 31 August. It allows women from across the country to participate without geographical limitations. In early September, the top 10 finalists will take part in an intensive bootcamp in Johannesburg. They will undergo diplomatic training, entrepreneurship masterclasses, and media coaching, and gain support to develop impactful social projects.
