(The Post News)- The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Mogalakwena Municipality has raised serious concerns about Mogalakwena Municipality corruption involving top officials, Premier Phophi Ramathuba, and CoGHSTA MEC Basikopo Makamu.
The DA will send letters to the Public Protector and the Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA) Minister, demanding a full investigation into alleged payments to linked companies and municipal manager influence over hiring decisions, stressing that tackling Mogalakwena Municipality corruption is vital to restore public trust and ensure transparency in local governance.

Social media sources indicate that Premier Phophi Ramathuba allegedly endorsed payments to linked companies surpassing millions of rand, which the municipal manager processed, raising further suspicion of Mogalakwena Municipality corruption.
Reports claim that both the Premier and MEC Basikopo Makamu influenced the municipal manager to hire family members, raising family hiring allegations and nepotism concerns.
The DA insists that these actions, if proven, represent serious Mogalakwena Municipality corruption and require oversight from the CoGTA Minister and a complaint to the Public Protector.

The Premier’s office denied the allegations, calling them false, while the DA reaffirmed its commitment to investigate.
