(The Post News) – Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani is recovering in hospital after being injured in a car collision in New Hampshire over the weekend. The former Republican presidential candidate, who also served as a lawyer and a former adviser to US President Donald Trump, sustained multiple injuries but is reportedly making tremendous progress, according to his security team.
Car Crashes with Ford Bronco Carrying Giuliani
New Hampshire police said that late on Saturday night, a Honda RV, driven by a 19-year-old woman, collided with the rear of a Ford Bronco carrying Giuliani and his spokesperson, Ted Goodman. Authorities noted that the RV was travelling at high speed at the time, causing both vehicles to veer into the median and sustain significant damage.
Troopers and fire personnel who witnessed the crash quickly rendered assistance. Both Goodman and the driver were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. Giuliani was transported to a nearby trauma center, where medical staff diagnosed a fractured thoracic vertebra, as well as multiple cuts, bruises, and injuries to his left arm and lower leg.
Head of security Michael Ragusa emphasized that preliminary investigations indicate the crash was accidental and not a targeted attack, requesting the public to respect Giuliani’s privacy and refrain from speculation.
He is reportedly alert, fully conscious, and eager to return to work. His son, Andrew Giuliani, thanked well-wishers for their prayers, while Giuliani’s own social media account expressed gratitude to the nurse practitioner overseeing his care. A statement noted that the 81-year-old “is eager to return to his work and looks forward to getting back to business in just a few days.” The incident remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed.
