(The Post News) – Radio personality and DJ Solomuzi ‘Sol’ Phenduka’s dismissal has officially been confirmed by the radio station, Kaya 959, in a statement. This comes after nearly two weeks of Phenduka’s suspension pending “internal process.”

Kaya 959 Officially Let’s Go of Sol Phenduka
On Monday afternoon, they revealed that they terminated Phenduka’s contract due to his “misogynistic” comments made about actress Minnie Dlamini. Acting Managing Executive Dave Tiltmann said “Kaya 959 cannot and will not condone comments made on the MacG Vodcast”.
On an episode of the Mac G Podcast, Phenduka and his co-host, MacGyver “MacG” Mukwevho, made degrading comments about Dlamini’s genitals and said that she exchanged sex for money following her breakup with ex-husband Dr. Brian Monaisa.
Dlamini subsequently filed a lawsuit against the duo for hate speech, seeking 2.5 million rand in damages, with 1.5 million rand intended for a women’s organisation. The Post News reported that Mukwevho later invited Dlamini to appear on the podcast to “squash it” once and for all. However, Dlamini declined the invitation and issued a detailed statement explaining why she is choosing to continue with the legal action.
Tiltmann stated that Sol Phenduka’s comments do not reflect the values of the station and violate his independent contract, which required him to act and speak responsibly as a representative and presenter of Kaya 959. He added that “trust, integrity, accountability, respect, and inclusivity are the foundations of Kaya 959.”.
