(The Post News) – Boy Mamabolo’s Born To Win Party is pushing forward with registration after the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) rejected its original name, “Mandela For President.” The IEC argued that both the name and branding were too similar to Nelson Mandela and the African National Congress (ANC), which could confuse voters. Instead of appealing, he has decided to withdraw the challenge and adopt the new name.
Moreover, the Born To Win Party has already collected more than 10,000 signatures, exceeding the IEC’s minimum of 1,000. This figure reflects strong grassroots backing. Many signatures reportedly came from ANC members, and Mamabolo intends for his party to draw support away from both the ANC and the Economic Freedom Fighters.
Mamabolo’s Party Gains Support
The To Win Party embraces the belief that every South African can succeed regardless of background. This message directly contrasts with what Mamabolo describes as the ANC’s elitist policies. As the ANC in Limpopo prepares for its provincial conference, he believes frustrated members will eventually join his movement.
In addition, the Born To Win Party was launched soon after Mamabolo resigned from the ANC. He has criticized the party for sidelining him and promoting only candidates with advanced academic qualifications. For him, such requirements exclude ordinary citizens who form the bulk of the electorate.
Born To Party Challenges ANC
Meanwhile, internal ANC battles in Limpopo continue as branches debate the timing of their provincial conference. Mamabolo expects that once the conference concludes, more members will cross over.
Ultimately,Mamabolo’s party positions itself as a voice for everyday South Africans, rejecting elitism and emphasizing grassroots representation. By focusing on inclusivity, unity, and bold change, the party aims to shake the dominance of the ANC both in Limpopo and nationally.
