
China’s military parade unveils newest weapons. CNN
(The Post News)- President Xi Jinping staged a staggering show of China’s military power on wednsday, 03 September 2025, using the occasion to rally some of the world’s most influential authoritarian leaders behind his vision for a new world order.
Chinese President said in his speech, “The world must choose between peace and war.”
The parade highlighted China’s growing investment in modern warfare, featuring a display of both conventional weaponry and cutting-edge technologies. Among the showcased arsenal were stealth fighter jets, anti-ship missiles, air-defense lasers, undersea drones, robot dogs, and China’s latest intercontinental ballistic missile.
Rows of uniformed soldiers goose-stepped in perfect unison through Tiananmen Square, reinforcing the image of precision and discipline that has long characterized the militaries of authoritarian states. One of the day’s defining moments came when Xi, flanked by Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, strode toward the Tiananmen rostrum with other visiting leaders following closely behind.
New weapons unveiled by China at Xi Jinping’s massive military parade
The Chinese military showcased the new YJ-15 missile alongside the already established YJ-17, YJ-19, and YJ-20 hypersonic missiles.
The YJ missiles, meaning “Eagle Attack” in Chinese, are capable of being launched from ships or aircraft and are specifically designed to deal severe damage to large vessels. China is making swift progress in hypersonic weaponry, a technology that has garnered international focus due to its potential to bypass conventional defense systems.
According to reports China unveiled two models of extra-large uncrewed underwater vehicles (XLUUVs). The AJX002 sea drone is reported to be approximately 60 feet in length. Its torpedo-like shape and pump-jet propulsion system suggest that the vehicle is designed for stealth operations.
The AJX002 is equipped with four lifting lugs along its hull, indicating it is designed to be crane-lifted. It is reported that China leads the world with the largest XLUUV program, already deploying at least five different types of these underwater vehicles.
Putin invites Kim to Russia at Chinese millitary parade
Following the parade, Xi, Putin, and Kim retreated to closed-door talks lasting more than two hours. During the discussions, Putin extended an invitation to Kim to visit Russia. Ahead of the meeting, the Russian leader expressed gratitude to North Korean troops he claimed were aiding Moscow in its fight against Ukraine, while Kim pledged that his country would support Russia “as brothers.”
The display of solidarity and China’s striking showcase of advanced military technologies, underscored Beijing’s intent to position itself at the heart of a shifting geopolitical order, with partners willing to challenge American dominance on the world stage.
