(The Post News)- A 14-year-old boy has been taken into custody in connection with a shooting in Saxonsea, Atlantis, that claimed the life of a 31-year-old man and left a four-year-old girl injured.
According to police spokesperson Malcolm Pojie, the victim was walking to his girlfriend’s home on Wednesday when the suspect confronted him and opened fire, striking him in both the leg and head.
Pojie reported that the child was unintentionally caught in the crossfire and suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach. “The toddler was rushed to Red Cross Hospital, where she is in a critical yet stable condition.
The 14-year-old suspect appeared in the Atlantis Magistrate’s Court, where bail was successfully opposed and denied,” Pojie said.
The boy remains behind bars until his next court appearance.
