(The Post News) – After going viral for her courtroom comments in the assault case filed against her, rapper Cardi B has turned the attention into a promotional boost for her upcoming album, Am I The Drama?.
In a marketing-savvy move, the Grammy-winning rapper announced she will release limited “Courtroom Edition” covers of her deluxe album. This past week, social media has been ablaze with memes and bite-sized clips of Cardi B, birth name Belcaliz Almanzar, exchanging with the opposing team during the trial of a $24 million assault case.
Two exchanges from the trial quickly became the most-shared moments on TikTok and X. The first came when Ellis’s lawyer, Ron Rosen Janfaza, pressed Cardi about her ever-changing look, asking, “Which one is your real hair?” The rapper awkwardly laughed, rolled her eyes, and replied, “They’re wigs.” Viewers were left baffled about the relevance of the question, laughing at Cardi’s reaction.
The second viral clip arrived as the lawyer tried to pin down Ellis’s physical build. When asked to describe her, Cardi answered, “She’s my height, but security heavy… like she could protect the building.” Janfaza pressed further, demanding how she knew Ellis was heavier. Cardi casually gestured toward Ellis and said, “I mean, look.” The moment drew laughter in the courtroom and endless remixes online.
After a week of testimonies, on Tuesday a Los Angeles jury ruled unanimously in Cardi’s favor, finding her not liable for the alleged attack. With the verdict behind her, Almanzer wasted no time turning the legal spectacle into a branding moment, releasing the courtroom cover edition of her album that is dropping on the 19th of September, 2025.
