(The Post News) – In an interview promoting his new film The Cut, actor Orlando Bloom opened up on September 5 about his current relationship with pop star ex Katy Perry following their widely publicized split.
The Lord of the Rings actor revealed on TODAY that he and Perry remain on good terms and continue to co-parent their 5-year-old daughter, Daisy. “We have the most beautiful daughter,” he said. He added, “We’re great. We’re going to be great. Nothing but love.”
In early June, Bloom and Perry’s representatives announced that the engaged couple had ended their relationship after a decade together. The statement explained that the pair had been “shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting.”
Having been engaged since 2019, the news came as no shock to some fans questioning the long engagement. However, for those reassured by images of them attending events together, the news was surprising, as they had been rooting for the seemingly happy couple.
Bloom and Perry After Split
Despite the split, the pair continue to support and respect each other in their co-parenting journey. In late August, they worked together to resolve a long-standing property dispute involving Bloom’s $15 million Montecito residence, with Perry testifying in court to assist the process.
Friends of the couple have also attested to their healthy relationship. Bloom’s ex-wife and mother of his son, model Miranda Kerr, shared that “We’re one big, happy family.” In an interview two days prior, Kerr said she had seen Bloom and Perry together at a celebration for their daughter’s birthday and expressed her love and support for both of them separately.
