The bloodshed did not end there. In a separate incident on the same night, two men aged 20 and 22 were shot dead in Eikendal. Police are still investigating the motives and possible links between the attacks, but no arrests have been made.
Leaders and activists warn that broken trust between residents and law enforcement makes it harder for witnesses to share information. Poor infrastructure in informal settlements also limits police patrols, while gang activity worsens the danger. Calls for additional police stations and stronger government intervention are growing louder.
For many residents, violance in Kraaifontein has become a daily reality, leaving them fearful and uncertain. Until real change is made, the cycle of killings will continue to haunt the community.
