(The Post News)- South African sensation Tyla and American R&B icon Ciara lit up the backstage area at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night with a playful dance session that quickly powered talk of a potential collaboration.
The two stars shared a lively moment at New York’s UBS Arena as Ciara taught Tyla the choreography to her latest single, “Low”, from the deluxe edition of her self-titled album Cici, which features Tanzanian star Diamond Platnumz.
Ciara, approaching 40, showed no signs of slowing down dropping lower and lower with effortless energy. Meanwhile, Tyla, known as the “pretty girl from Jo’burg,” struggled to match Ciara’s strong knees, eventually breaking into laughter and cheering her on as the “Ecstasy” singer continued to perform.
Ciara later posted a video of their dance on X, captioning it:
“I think you’re ready for more! Loved getting low with you @Tyllaaaaaaa.”
That lyric pulled directly from the song quickly raised speculation online that the clip might be more than just fun and games. Fans wondered whether Ciara was teasing a remix or upcoming collaboration with the Grammy-winning South African.
The idea isn’t far-fetched. In a recent interview with L’Officiel, Ciara expressed her interest in teaming up with her.
“If I could collaborate with someone, I think it would be super cool to maybe work with her. I think what she does is just… her music is really infectious, and she makes people dance through her music. And for me, it’s really important to make the world dance,” Ciara said.
“I think me and Tyla could wind it up a little bit, you know, do a little song together maybe. It could be cute,” she added.
She didn’t just connect with Ciara that evening she also rubbed shoulders with big names like GloRilla, Sexyy Red, Busta Rhymes, and Zara Larsson.
Fueling collaboration rumors even more, they appeared together again the next day at the Pandora Talisman Collection launch event in New York.
Recently, fans speculated that Ciara’s new song “Low” and its music video may have drawn inspiration from her style, sparking debates online between their fan communities. With both artists celebrated for their high-energy dance performances and infectious music, many believe a team-up is inevitable.
