(The Post News)- This weekend, Cardi B will return to her neighbourhood stage as the main act during the 2025 Global Citizen Festival in Central Park, New York City.
The Brooklyn-raised rapper will be the main attraction on Saturday, September 27, replacing The Weekend, who pulled out of the program for reasons of a personal nature, according to confirmation from the event’s organizers on Monday.
Global Citizen enthusiastically announced Cardi B’s comeback on X. She quickly showed her followers how excited she was, expressing her support for the town and its objectives. She wrote, “I’m coming for you, Central Park, I’m excited to return to New York and perform my new songs at the Global Citizen Festival, bringing all the drama. This festival stands out compared to previous events,” the rapper stressed.
Her appearance carries on her history of support for the campaign. In 2018, she made her debut on the Festival stage with a stunning performance that is still a favourite among fans. Since then, she has actively backed a number of the foundation’s projects, like the Rewards program and the 2020 “Just Vote” campaign, inspiring her followers to take up causes like gender equality, education, and poverty.
She is back in 2025 as a big attraction at a festival that combines urgent protest with international entertainment. In order to address severe poverty, inequality, and climate change, the festival combines grassroots engagement with celebrity influence to drive change globally.
She is part of a stellar international roster that also includes Shakira, Tyla, Ayra Starr, and Mariah the Scientist at the 2025 Global Citizen Festival. For the eleventh year in a row, Hugh Jackman will be hosting the event.
The festival will be streamed live from Central Park’s Great Lawn in the center of New York City to a worldwide audience via YouTube, Apple Music, and the Apple TV app.
